New developments for 2008

The Planet Walk is now being installed at the Tycho Brahe Memorials, ready for opening at the 29 th of April 2008. The Planet Walk starts from a sculpture of the sun placed in front of the new museum. The planet stations will be placed to scale as regards size and distance from this sculpture. The open-air exhibition for 2008 will be about play and entertainment in Tycho Brahe’s time. The exhibition will open on the 5 th of May and run until the end of September.

The Tycho Brahe Heritage opens its gates for the 2008 season on
the 12th of April, and will be open every day
until 30th of September and weekends during October.
Groups
are welcome to book visits all year round. When the Museum is not open, bookings
can be arranged by phoning +46 418 72 530. It is also possible to book here!
Tycho Brahe Museum nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award 2007
The Tycho Brahe Museum has been nominated for the prestigious Museum of the Year Award for 2007. The prize, which has existed since 1977, is sponsored by the Council of Europe. A total of three prizes are awarded. Sixty museums were entered for the prize and 28 were nominated. The winner for 2007 was the Bremerhaven Emigration Centre.

The Tycho Brahe monument on the
island of Ven (in the Soundbetween Denmark and Sweden)
now got its eagerly awaited new museum. The new museum
is located in the former All Saints Church and was
officially opened by Crown Princess Victoria in front of
240 invited guests.
