Our guided, thematic tours are of course the best way to experience the museum and to get the most out of your visit. We also give tours by bike. Available languages are Swedish, Danish and English.
The Museum is open for booked groups all year round
Join us for an exciting display that takes a holistic approach to Tycho Brahe. We hear about his curiosity and science and see recovered instruments, as well as some original objects in the exhibition. By visiting the sites of his castle and observatory, Uraniborg and Stjärneborg, as well as the surrounding Renaissance Garden, we get as broad a picture as possible of Tycho Brahe. The focus is his work in astronomy, medicine and paper manufacture.

Tycho and Botany
In the company of the museum’s gardener, we learn about a lesser known and fascinating part of Tycho’s activities on Ven, alchemy and botany. We look at the Renaissance Garden art and how the shapes hold symbolism. The exciting use of plants in thecontext of medicine manufacturing in Tycho’s laboratory in Uraniborg’s basement is also addressed and we hear about his first assistant and sister, Sophie Brahe, who was active in botany and astrology.

Tycho and Science
We take a deep dive into the Tycho Brahe groundbreaking research work and look closer at his instruments, paper mill and observatory. How did Tycho’s impressive steel quadrant work and who built it? A viewing for those who want to know more, we go in to detail and tell about the discoveries that made Ven an international tourist destination in the 16th century, which eventually led to a new worldview!

Tycho and his Family
Join us for a family viewing for both big and small! We explain when Tycho discovered a new star, how his remarkable castle worked and what he did in his observatory. In the story, exciting people turn up such as Ven’s resistance farmers and his sister Sophie. The tour ends with us creating our own paper just like Tycho did in his mill by the sea!
