The Planetpath

The walk starts from a model of the sun outside the new Tycho Brahe Museum. In this model the sun is 162 cm in diameter, and from this the planets of our solar system will be placed to scale in size and distance.
The Planet Walk runs down towards Bäckviken harbour on Ven. The planets Uranus and Neptune will not be included on the walk. They would end up in the water between Ven and Landskrona. Pluto, which is no longer counted as a planet, will nevertheless be included, with a model placed on the path between Lindhs Hamn and Borstahusen on the mainland.
In the museum shop there will be a brochure about the Planet Walk on sale. It contains a map of the walk and more detailed information about each planet.
The Planet Walk was produced by the Landskrona Leisure and Culture Department. The design of the sun sculpture and the models of the planets are the work of the architect Björn Ed. The texts were written by Associate Professor Marie Rådbo. The graphic design of the brochure is by Janne Jönsson. Production was directed by Tina Jönsson and Göran Nyström.
The Planet Walk is being built up with the aid of grants from EU Objective 2 Islands, Region Skåne, the Foundation for the Culture of the Future and AB Landskronahem. Land for the models of the planets has kindly been granted by Hven Goat Cheese, Ven Cycle Hire and Christer Eriksson. |
